World kindness day is celebrated internationally on 13th November every year, as a reminder to always let kindness prevail over hatred. It was introduced in 1998, and the reason why it is meaningful for Nubian Skin, is not only that it’s celebrated in the UK and in Nigeria (Ade’s home country), but because at Nubian Skin we pride ourselves in empowering women to be kind to themselves, through celebrating their nude.

Kindness can be applied in so many different ways, whether it is generally having a kind and considerate manner around other people you spend time with, going out of your way to help someone who needs it, or practicing self love and self kindness. This type of kindness is our favourite, as we believe that self love should always come first, as Lucille Ball once said -
If being kind to yourself is not always easy to fit into a busy schedule, then at least take this Sunday to do something for yourself. Have a bath, make your favourite meal, listen to your favourite artist, go for a country walk, whatever makes you feel happy. And when you practice self kindness, it makes it easier to be kind to others too. Give compliments, help someone out with their shopping, give your loved one a call, make them feel cared for, considered.
